Vastu Shastra: Commercial Vastu, Chapter VIII, Part - 1

Chapter 6

Dr. Shanker Adawal

Though India’s GDP is based on Agriculture but the way industrialization is taking place in the country it is necessary that our business establishments and factories should be based on the Vastu so that the entrepreneur can reap most through his investments. In this chapter we would discuss about the commercial Vastu related to these institutions.

Factories

The industrialization starts from the establishing of a factory which requires all the three means of productions i.e. land, labour and capital. If all the three means of production are healthy then the owner would certainly be blessed with all rewards and success.

Selection of land

For opening a factory land is the first requirement as per the cannons of the Vastu. A round, oval triangle or land with many angles creates this or that type of the problem for the owner. So that it is advised that the plot of the factory should either be square or rectangle with the North-west and South West corners 90o angle. If a road is there on its north or east directions that it would be add on for it.

Main Gate

As per the cannons of Vastu the main gate of the factory should be in north or east direction. It should never be in the Southwest. West entrance is good. If the factory is in the south direction then the door should be constructed in south south east direction and if it is in west direction then it should be constructed in west or north-west. The doors of the factory can be constructed in any of the directions.

Compound wall

The South and West compound wall of the premises should be made of stone and other heavy items, making South West corner exactly to 90o . The east and North boundaries can be of barbed wire also. The idea is that it should be light in weight. Here it should be noted that the back portion should not be high in comparison with the front wall. If need is felt then leave some land and construct another wall. In the South East corner, leaving 2 ft. to 3 ft. from the compound wall a transformer room can be made.

Security room

The security room or office should be constructed in south-west direction. Also servant, watchman’s room can be made near compound wall without touching the walls.

Open area

While constructing the factory it should be taken into notice that the open space should be left in north and east directions. There should be a slope in north and east and south east. South west should be kept high in the factory at 90o angle.

Heavy Machines

Heavy Machinery should be in the South-West side. Lighter and small machines can be installed in the North side. Tools can be placed in the eastern or northern direction. The colour of this portion should be white so that the workers should feel fresh after finishing their work.

Electrical machine

Boiler, fire and electrical items should be in the South-east corner. The chimney of the factory should be in the east direction.

Weighing machine

The weighing should be kept either in north-west, central north or central east.

Raw and Finished material

Heavy raw materials should be kept in south-west direction. Half manufactured material should be kept in south or west direction. The finished material should be kept in north-west direction so that it would enable speedy distribution of the manufactured goods. The Store room, Waste material etc. should be kept in the Southwest corner. In the Southwest corner scrap and other heavy items can be dumped.
