Importance of Yogakaraka Planet

Yogakaraka planet of any rising is defined technically as that planet which possesses the unique property of having simultaneous ownership of a Kendra and a Kona. The Dasa of Yogakaraka is very auspicious for any native even if it is located in an evil house. 6^th, 8^th, 12^th as they bestow result like elevations in status i.e. rise in career and wealth in their dasas. If a Yogakaraka is combust or retrograde, it will not totally refuse to deliver good results in its Dasa. It may delay the results, cause obstacles also but will not deny giving what is due to a native. Yogakaraka from Janama Rasi are equally important as Yogakarakas from Janama Lagna. If a planet owns both Kendra and kona, it becomes most auspicious and special Yogakaraka.

A Yogakaraka Planet may be said to have greater functional efficiency than other planets of the same rising sign. When such a planet gets related to another planet in some way or the other, there remain no iota of doubt about the facts that the latter inherits the former’s benefic properties and the former uses the later to produce very good effects on the life of the native in various forms. The ability of Yogakaraka to energies the entire horoscope depends not only on its strength and placement but also on the extent to which it can spread the network of influence on other planets specially the Kendra and Trikona lords and also the lords of 2^nd, 11th and 12^th houses (12^th lord can absorb the quality of a lord, good or bad with which it gets associated).

The Yogakaraka may use Nakshatra as well as signs for reaching other planets. It may act through its depositor or through such planet of which the Yogakaraka itself is the dispositor. When a Yogakaraka makes square positions with other planets, these planets, these planets also become benefic for the native.

According to the science of astrology only three planets i.e. Mars, Saturn and Venus act as Yogakaraka. These are Taurus and Libra with Saturn as their Yogakaraka, Cancer and Leo with Mars as their Yogakaraka, Capricorn and Aquarius with Venus as their Yogakaraka. Head Line

In Hindu palmistry the head line is called dhan rekha and Marti rekha. From this line we can make out the mentality, the power of mental concentration and the ability to exert self control, possessed by the subject. It should be obvious that the mind plays a very vital role in the shaping of out destiny. However good the human machinery may be, it cannot function properly unless there is a proper mental attitude. Mind is the force that enables the subject to alter his life. The king of mind possessed by the subject indicates the future course of life. Further, from the study of the headline it is possible to determine the quality and quantity of brain power.

The construction of the headline mirrors the working of the brain. There are numerous types of headline, with varying effects. The variations are the size of the line, the course the line follows, the placement and position of the line on the palm, and so on. The variations are so many that the subject requires intensive study.

There is no difference of opinion with regard to the starting point and the ending point of the head line. The line is found under the line of heart, more or less parallel to it. The head line starts about midway between the Jupiter finger and the thumb. Any abnormality in the position of the head line indicates an abnormal tendency. Normally, the head line beings under the Jupiter finger either joined to the life line or a little apart from it. It can, however, start from a place inside the life line. The three different positions for the start of the head line are—

Persons whose headline rises inside the life line on the lower mount of Mars have qualities designated by the planet Mars. They would have a tendency for argumentative fighting, and generally are of a quarrelsome disposition. These qualities will be intensified if the head lines goes straight to the upper mount of Mars on the percussion under the mount of Mercury. If the head line, towards the end, takes an upward turn to the line of heart, the person concerned will have a quarrelsome and irritable nature, generating murderous instincts. If the head line slops and the end, downwards towards the mount of Moon, the quarrelsome disposition will get reduced or softened due to introspection.

Persons who have a head line which is closely joined with the life line from the starting point and continues to be merged with it for some distance are of cautious nature they are possessed of shyness and timidity. According to one view, those who have such a head line about themselves during the tie period signified by the merger in other words, they enjoy the guidance of their parents and elders. We can say that they possibly do not have the confidence required to decide matters concerning their life. The availability of guidance can prove a boon as well as hindrance.

Persons who have the third type of head line, which is set a little apart from the life line, are self- confident and determined. They also have the gift of intuition. The demise of parents or if parents are not in a position to render any guidance, leaves these individuals to their own device. Self- confidence and the determination will be moderate if the space between the head line and life line is not very wide. If the gap is very wide, the subject will have excessive determination and a reckless spirit, as a result of which he may not give due consideration to the pros and cons of his actions.

As with the starting point, there are three normal positions for the termination of this line on the opposite side of the palm. The first is a perfect straight line, from one end to other. This type of line indicates that the subject is extremely practical, has sound judgment and is level- headed. The possessors of this type of line have great organizational ability in whatever sphere of life they may engage themselves. Women who have such a head line are also gifted with good organization ability, business acumen and entrepreneurship, qualities earlier associated with men. The second type is when the head line turns up slightly at the end, or a branch goes in an upward direction. This line indicates strong mental power and a very acquisitive nature. For those who like to amass wealth, such a head line plays a helpful role. The third type of termination is of the head line sloping slightly downwards. This line shows a blend of practical and artistic tendencies. The line of head may be straight, from one end to other or it may rise or fall, and shore a deep depression towards the mount of moon or in the center of the palm.

The course of the head line affects the size of the quadrangle (the space between the heart line and the head line. When the quadrangle is even, well shaped, neither narrow nor very broad even. The running of the head line close to the heart line, thereby making the quadrangle narrow, indicates a tendency for asthma. Persons with a narrow quadrangle are narrow- minded and do not like to spend money on other. In a bad hand the line makes one meticulous and very disciplined, and in order to achieve one’s aim, one may hesitate to behave in a way that may hurt the feeling of others.

Know Yourself from Your Own Face - General Characteristics

Face reading has been termed as ‘physiognomy’ i.e. the study of the face- from the shape/ of and lines from the face. Some claim this to be an accurate science. However, I feel that it cannot be a perfect and exact science as face reading is also a God gifted matter with Sages/ Rishies or holy men. Be that as it may, no specific principles are available though general characteristics of the native can be told on the basis of the fore- head, ears, cheeks, thin, jaw, etc. It may be apt to mention here that ear- astrology has been developed by few astrologers i.e. on the basis of ears, their size and shape and the curves inside and outside the ears. The topic of ears shall be discussed separately.

2. In view of scanty and limited literature on FACE READING, only few people know about the principles about face reading. In the series of articles to be published, an attempt shall be made to acquaint all of you about the face reading including head and hairs and as head also, specially baldness of head, from part of the face and helps in reading the general characteristics of the native.

3. Mere face reading may not suffice the native and it need to be associated/ complimented by astrology/ numerology/ Palmistry. For example, a native born with a weak chin may not really lack in determination/ decisions as he may be born on a powerful date and with planets having their own strength. Thus the face reading shall continue to be of utmost importance and interest. Some observations are inevitable on the basis of face and they do help the consulter and the predictor.

4. Face reading cannot become a source of livelihood i.e. business or profession as it has its own pitfalls. Face reading specially comes as a hobby as no predictions are possible on the basis of face reading though general characteristics and just something about the native can be told on the basis of face reading. Those who use physiognomy must remember to make due allowance for what might be termed as the frank human nature. Knowledge of face reading, from whatever source be acquired, need to be made as a profession if astrology/ numerology/ palmistry is also studied by the face reader.

5. Subject to above observations, there are persons born with God- gifted institution to tell all about the native on the basis of face- for example, the particular lines (straight or perpendicular) do become indicative of the face that the person may hold some high position. The wearing of mind is also reflected in the face. How one is bold and happy are also indicated by the face. Longevity would depend on the size of the ear and other facial parts.

6. The force of attraction lies in the face and at times even a first look at the face become attractive and one gets attached/ attracted to other for full life. Some call it love at first sight. With the continuous reading of articles being published, you will be in a position to delineate the character, disposition and intellectual capacity of the human beings on the basis of face. The face also becomes responsible to tell about the executive power and whether the native would be actor/ model etc. In the beginning your judgment may be incorrect but with experience you will be in a position to judge the native correctly on first look.

Planetary Combinations Conferring Status, Wealth and Wisdom - (Raj Yogas or Auspicious Combinations in the Horoscope)

Rise and fall in life is well known. Some persons are born wealthy and others acquire wealth by their self efforts and hard labour and they continue prospering in their mission and reach at the height with the change of ‘Dasha’ of the Planets. Actually they are born with good and auspicious combinations to come up in their field. For example, the Sun in the 10^th House is bound to take the native to hold a high position including in the Government. It has been seen that all High Government officials have their Sun either in the 10^th House or in Leo sign or in exaltation sign- Aries. So these combinations are formed by planets. Similarly, afflicted Sun, Sun in Libra (debilitation sign) can give fall from the position.

2. The following principles will throw light on various combinations in your Horoscope specially for females.

i.) Guru in Lagna, Chandra in 7^th or in his own Vargas and Sukra in 10^th, the woman will become the wife of a king or a ruler, even if she is born in a poor family and inferior caste. Here it means that although a girl may be in humble circumstances and belong to a lower caste than that of the ruler, she will become his wife. Beauty is no doubt a powerful weapon for women to conquer men, but sometimes love is blind and women of ordinary complexion and beauty will be courted by a ruler, what we may call a lucky girl.

ii.) If benefices occupy the kendras or if they are in Lagna and if the 7^th House falls in a Nara Rasi or signs like Mithuna, Kanya, Thula, the first half or Dhanus or Kumbha, occupied by evil planets the girl will have great wealth, will have patience and agreeable temper upon her as servants. She will have great political power.

iii.) If 11^th house is occupied by Chandra and the 7^th occupied by Sukra and Budha and have the aspect of Guru, she will become the bride of ruler and will have all comforts of life.

iv.) If Kanya becomes Lagna with Budha in it, and Guru is found located in the 11^th, i.e. Kataka, in exaltation, she will become a queen and will command great respect and power. These two planets, Budha and Guru, are in exaltation and they produce Rajayoga.

v.) If Sukra (Venus) occupies Lagna, Budha is in the 3^rd House and the powerful Guru possessed of Shadvarga strength and is located in the 4^th, the girl will marry a king (VIP) and will have all royal enjoyments.

vi.) If at the time of birth there are three planets that have good Shadvargas, she will become the wife of a Raja (VIP). If four planets are so well situated with of a great emperor. If five planets have completely auspicious Shadvargas, she will become the wife of a very great emperor who has command over the three worlds and will travel in Vimanas (Aero planes).

vii.) If Budha joins Kanya or Mithuna and Jupiter accepted by Guru is with auspicious Shadvargas and the 4^th has the aspect of Sukra, the girl will marry a Maharaja (king). The Sadvargas are:-

1. Lagna of Birth or Ascendant.

2. Hora or half of a Rasi or sign.

3. Drekkana or one-third of a sign.

4. Navamsa or one- ninth division of a Rasi.

5. Dwadasamsa or one- twenty of a Zodiacal sign.

6. Thrimsamsa or one- thirtieth division of a sign.

These six divisions constitute Shadvargas and when all are good, the planet is powerful. Other works mention Shodasavargas or 16 divisions and they are:

1. Lagna

2. Hora

3. Drekkana

4. Panchamsa

5. Saptamsa

6. Navamsa

7. Dwadasamsa

8. Trayodasamsa

9. Panchadasamsa

10. Shodasamsa

11. Thrimsamsa

12. Ekadasamsa

viii.) If Kuja occupies 3 or 6 and Sani with auspicious Shadvargas joins 11 and Guru aspects Lagna the native becomes the wife of warrior, will be fond of righteous conduct and will be loving her husband and be loved by him.

ix.) If the Sun occupies Mesha his sign of exaltation with all the auspicious Shadvargas, accepted or conjoined by benefices and the birth falls in a fixed sign, the girl will become a queen and will command many conveyances and servants.

x.) If lagna falls in Kanya with Budha combined there, Guru in the 11^th, Sukra in the 2^nd and Poorna Chandra (full Moon) in the 10^th, she will be an empress. She will be charitable, generous, blessed with sympathetic speech, virtuous and helpful to the poor and distressed.

xi.) Look also to the position of Venus for all combinations- whether afflicted debilitated.

Saturn’s Influence on You - An Insight into Sade- Sati

It is known to all that Saturn has a major role to play in the life of all individuals, nations and countries. Be that as it may, it may not be possible to say all about the friend and foe. Saturn but it must be said that Saturn controls one sixth of population as it own signs in the Zodiac and if its aspects are taken into consideration it would control 5/12^th of the population as Saturn has major three aspects i.e. 3^rd, 7^th and 10^th.

2. Though known to all, it is re- iterated that Sade- Sati is the period of Saturn while transiting 12^th house, and 2^nd house from the house in which the Moon is placed in the birth chart i.e. Janama Kundali. Actually there has been difference of opinion amongst the astrologers. Most of the astrologers give predictions from the transit of the Saturn with reference to Natal Moon. However some of the astrologers say that actual Sade- Sati start from 330.01 degrees in which the Moon was located at the time of birth and extends to 60.00 degrees from the degree in which the Moon was located at the time of birth. Suppose the Moon was in 11^th degrees of Aswini at the time of birth, add- 330.01 degree of the orb and we get 341.01 degree of the orb. Likewise, add 60 degrees to 11 and we get 71 degrees of the orb. Accordingly, Sade- Sati shall commence from 341.01 degree of the orb. Perhaps difference of opinion leads to the effects of Sade- Sati and in some cases it had been seen that bad effects are felt even after the period of Sade- Sati is over i.e. when the Saturn has crossed the 2^nd house. Of course, it may be true that bad effects may be for some other reason.

3. Effects of Saturn differ from house to house i.e. from Dhaiya to Dhayia. When Saturn transits the first 30 degree of Sade- Sati, it is said to be transiting the head, brain and eyes. In this period the native is likely to suffer from various fears and troubles. Even if a person is born is rich and royal family, suffering cannot be ruled out and he will have to confront a lot of problems. In the first cycle i.e. Saturn transiting 12^th house for two and a half- year, evil effects will be felt by the parents and near relations of the native. Taking into account aspects of Saturn, it will also affect the transit of 2^nd house 6^th house, 9^th house. The health of grandmother may be effected and resulting in death in most of the cases. This period of Saturn is bound to put extra burden on the natives, strain his nerves and cause unwanted extra expenditure. In some cases, it may necessitate the native to have spectacles. However, no injury to the eye may result unless Saturn is heavily afflicted by Mars. The financial position may become little adverse (aspect of the Saturn on 2^nd house of income and profit). Those of the natives passing in the last phase of their life i.e. beyond 60 years may get to spiritualism, sanyas i.e. detachment from the family and worldly affairs. Briefly, this period of Saturn becomes responsible for setbacks and obstacles in all fields including profession.

4. The 2^nd cycle of Saturn’³ Sade- Sati i.e. First house- next 30 degrees to 12^th house gives the native various kinds of worries and fear of death. Increase in enemies and some of them for nothing are indicated. Those in service may face wrath of superiors. This period will affect domestic and profession activities. In addition, Saturn will affect 3^rd house, 7^th house and 10^th house i.e. characteristics of these houses shall also be under the influence of this Sade- Sati. Journeys to distant places, separation from relations like wife, brother, sister etc. are indicated. In some cases, this period also causes imprisonment. Though some astrologers predict death of wife (spouse) but this would depend on other factors, force of other planets and Dasha the native is running. In general, miseries, loss of wealth, fatigue and general debility, loss of friends, obstructions and delay in undertakings, failures etc. would be the misfortunes, increased expenditure is also indicated.

5. Now know about the 3^rd cycle of Saturn last Dhaiya of Sade- Sati. This period is said to pass through the legs of the natives. Mind of the native would become full of confusion and complications. The native has to run here and there for getting a solution to the problems. Unexpected reversals in professions and trade may also take place. This period would also affect 4^th house, 8^th house and 11^th house. Apart from the problems, problems of the children, the native may face death- like period or may even die in view of the involvement of 8^th house unless 8^th house is improved by other planetary forces. In general, this period becomes responsible for loss of health, happiness, loss of position, financial stress, loss of comforts, accidents, deception through wicked persons. Loss of children is also indicated.

6. The above malefic influences of Sade- Sati may not happen at all.

Don’t be afraid of Sade- Sati’. Actually, for some even Sade- Sati proves beneficial. Late Shri Morarji Desai became Prime Minister of India in Sade- Sati. From the above discussion, it is clear that 4^th, 10^th and 11^th houses stand for prosperity- the native gets landed property, conveyances services, business prosperity.

In the following circumstances, the dreadfulness of Sade-Sati stand modified for the better:

i.) When Saturn is in its exaltation sign or in Mool- trikona sign, in own rasi (sign) and even in a friendly rasi.

ii.) When Saturn is a Yoga- Karaka planet for a particular Ascendant say for Libra and Taurus.

iii.) Results will be neutral when a planet is strong at birth but weak in transit.

iv.) How position of Saturn is improved by aspect/ association and conjunction of other planets at birth and in transit.

7. Good aspect of Saturn with other planets will make the native careful in thought, attentive, sober, and calculative in all dealings. With methodical working, the native acquires property and develops profitable and gainful ventures including in agriculture and minerals. Dealing in metals associated with Saturn also proves beneficial.

8. Natal Star- the Nakshtra of Birth is also to be considered while delineating the effects of Sade- Sati. Actually K.P. system is based on Nakshtras. Consider in which consider in which constellation a planet transits. The effects of all planets while transiting the natal Nakshtra are not listed here but the effects of Saturn (also of Rahu is another Saturn) are give below:

9. Finally, I would again say that totality of the horoscope must be considered. No pronouncement is given unless one is sure about the malefic content of Saturn and other planets. What is needed is the well- guarded pronouncement not only on Sade- Sati but on all matters. Keep in mind whether benefic planets transit 6^th/ 8^th 12^th house and if so the malefic science shall be neutralized. It would also be apt to say something about Saturn who gives energy to face evils, do hard work so that one knows the value of hard work and indirectly enabling the native to control his ego.

It is known that ancient ‘horoscope’ was imprinted on clay tables have been unearthed almost 5300 years ago. No one knows form who and where was it started. Through- out the world there are many excellent professional astrologers who are highly educated and intelligent people. They practice astrology because they know it works. The main ingredients which go into the making of a horoscope are the Sun, the Moon, the other known planets- Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. If the astrologer knows, the date, place and time of any event, he or she can calculate a horoscope of it. The mathematical process of casting a Horoscope involve the science of astronomy, while interpreting all the factors in the horoscope chart involves the art of astrology.

The Sun, Moon and each of the planets produce its own unique effects. The Astrologer will reveal not only what will happen but also when. The Sign on the Ascendant at the time of birth has a powerful influence on personality and lifestyle.

In a general sense, the terms positives and negatives can be applied to the two major planets Jupiter and Saturn because they produce almost diametrically opposite effects.

Only a personal horoscope, calculated for a particular date, time and place of birth can give specific detailed information because it applies only to one person.

You and Your Hand Writing, General Characteristics

In an earlier issue of the Journal some characteristics with signature of VIPs were published. In view of desires expressed by our readers, we shall be giving this feature regularly to the extent possible.

2. The name is ‘Graphology’- What it is, how does it work, where it is used and how the reading shall be beneficial and useful. Graphology is a general term for all forms of hand writing. This word consists of (i.) grapho- meaning write and (ii.) logos- meaning reasoning, method or concept. The following broad- characteristics may be kept in mind for knowing about your hand writing:

a) Remember that handwriting is practically developed up to the age of adolescence i.e. when a native leaves the school (12^th class) and enters into adulthood. The character formed continues unless in few cases the hand- writing is changed by the will power of the native i.e. from slanting hand- writing to straight hand writing.

b) In some cases, though rare, individuals change their hand- writing from year to year specially their signatures with banks and other financial agreements to ensure that no fraud is played. Though even after the change inner character of the native can be found but after a deep knowledge of the subject.

c) With experience, a hand- writing expert would be in a position to tell all about the character, emotions, self- awareness, mental attitude, mental adjustment, sexual appetite and many more aspects about the consulter.

d) Remember, Graphology cannot tell about the future but it has its own potentiality to tell the state of mind of the native at a particular time and also how the native is associated with various facets of life including general traits as the hand- writing also go on changing and some teenagers write like matured persons and some matured persons write like children.

e) Graphology saves time in knowing all about a person including for matters of friendship, romance, love and sex, and business partnership.

f) Hand- writing is an instant photo of your mind- actually all mental notes/ vibrations travel from your mind and gets imprinted in the hand by way of lines and flow into your hand- writing. As in astrology, horoscope is the pivot, in palmistry, hand is the pivot and in handwriting, yours writing and even a signature become sufficient. It would be apt to say that your nervous system acts like a wire from your brain, a thought in your brain is transmitted by electrical impulses (blood circulation) through nervous system and fibers of your body i.e. arms, hands and fingers. Actually, for hand- writing, fingers become vehicles for writing your bent of mind.

3. Now a word about scientific validity of Graphology.
