Daughter

Y-1- Feminine planet in feminine sign, conjunct/aspected by a feminine planet indicates birth of a daughter without fail.

Number of children:

Y-1- If there be malefic planets in the 4^th House and also in the 6^th House, and the 5^th Lord in conjunction with the Ascendant be in highest exaltation and the significator of the 5^th House be together with a benefic planet the number of children will be ten;

Y-2- The number will be nine when Jupiter be in his highest exaltation, the 2^nd Lord be conjunct with Rahu and the ninth Lord be in the ninth House;

Y-3- In case Jupiter be placed in the 5^th or the 9^th House, the 5^th Lord is endowed with strength and the 2^nd Lord be placed in the 10^th House, the number of children, will be the number of Vasus i.e., eight;

Y-4- If there be Saturn in the 5^th House from the 5^th, the 5^th Lord be in the 5^th House the number of children will be seven out of which two will be born twins;

Y-5- Should the 2^nd Lord and the 5^th Lord be in the 5^th House, six sons are born to the native, out of which three are subjected to death;

Y-6- When either Jupiter has gone in the 5^th House from Saturn or

Saturn has gone in the 5^th House from Jupiter and the 5^th House is occupied by malefic planets, one son is to be predicted;

Y-7- When the 5^th House is occupied by malefic planets and Saturn is placed 5^th from Jupiter the native will have 3 wives, but he will beget son only through the 2^nd and the 3^rd, and;

Y-8- If the 5^th House is occupied by malefic planets, Saturn is placed 5^th from Jupiter, or

The Ascendant Lord is in the 2^nd House and the 5^th Lord is together with Mars.

Then the native is long-lived but loses his children, one after the other as they are born.

Y-9- The number of good points falling in the sign occupied by Jupiter or those in the 5^th house tell the number of sons under the Ashtakavarga system but in the reckoning the points contributed by planets lords of the inimical or debilitation signs of the significator or by a planet that is eclipsed should be ignored.

Y-10- The number of sons should be determined from the number of rays possessed by the lord of the 5^th house or by the number of the Navamsas in the 5^th house or from the rays possessed by Jupiter.

Y-11- Divide by 12 the number of degrees from the lord of Ascendant to the 5^th house; the remainder indicates the number of children a native will have.

Note: A learned man should declare results in the present context after due consideration of the yogas for the destruction of “family” & after careful consideration of the yogas for the existence or otherwise of the sons.

Family

Y-1- Yoga for the discontinuance of the family true will be constituted, if Moon is located in the 10^th, Venus in 7^th and malefic in the 4^th house and the lord of the Ascendant is located with Mercury.

Y-2- If malefic planets are located in the 12^th, 5^th or the 8^th house, the yoga indicates the discontinuance of the family tree & the man becomes bereft of wealth. If the Moon is in the Ascendant with Jupiter and Mars or Saturn is located in the 7^th house the results follow.

Y-3- If all malefic planets are located in the 4^th house the yoga indicates the discontinuance of the family tree. Similarly if the malefic planets occupy the 1^st, 12^th, 5^th, 8^th houses, then also the result is the same.

Y-4- If malefic are situated in the 8^th, 1^st, or the 12^th house and Moon is in the 5^th, the yoga leads to the extinction of the family tree.

Same is the result if Mercury is in the 7^th house along with Venus, the 4^th house is occupied by malefic and Jupiter is in the 5^th.

Y-5a- If many malefic occupy the 8^th house from Moon Ascendant, the yoga indicates the extinction of the family tree.

Y-5b- Similarly, it is seen if there is a malefic in the Ascendant, Moon is in the 4^th house & the lord of the 5^th house is in the 5^th house, and the lord of the 5^th house is devoid of strength, indicates the extinction of the family tree.

Y-5c- The same result follows, if weak Moon is in the 1^st house and combust Jupiter is in the sign of Saturn with Saturn.

Y-6a- If all the planets are in the 5^th or the 9^th house, there is denial of happiness from children in his life time.

Y-6b- So also if Mercury is located in the 5^th house and the 1^st & 4^th houses are occupied by malefic.

Y-7a- If malefic occupy the 5^th house, the yoga denies a son.

Y-7b- If Mars is in Ascendant, Saturn in 8^th, Sun in 5^th, however, if most of these planets are aspected by benefic planets the native gets son, long after marriage.

Y-8- If Saturn is in Ascendant, Jupiter in 8^th & Mars in 12^th, then also the native gets a son, long after marriage.
