In
this chart, the lord of the Ascendant is in the Ascendant itself which is a
fixed sign and the 9th is a movable sign whose lord is in Libra,
another movable sign. But the cusp of the 9th is in a fixed sign (9s
24degree 5’). Also the lord of the 9th aspected by Mars, lord of the
12th, is in the constellation of Jupiter who is himself tenanting
the 10th house. Lord of the 10th, Saturn is in the 6th,
a movable sign and in the last Navamsa possessing very limited exaltation
strength. Nevertheless, retrograde Jupiter’s limited aspect on Saturn, who is
the lord of the 9th and the 10th really makes him Raja
Yogakaraka, of course, with certain inherent limitations. Mars, lord of the 12th,
is in the 11th in Jupiter’s house and is in the constellation of
Mercury who is in turn in Saturn’s star. These are pointers towards foreign
trip, the significators being Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Accordingly, I fixed
Jupiter Dasa Mars Bhukti for the foreign visit to the native who had commenced
Jupiter’s Dasa in November 1956. His Mars’ sub period started in July 1969 which
looked propitious for his trip. However, to get some further insight into the
matter I thought of the time of query also.
The
horary chart worked out for the query time for the above subject was as
follows:-
Four
planets Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury and Mars are Vargottama. The 9th is
a movable sign occupied by the lord of the 7th. The 9th
lord, Mars, is in a movable sign, Cancer, with an array of combinations. The 12th
house, by itself a movable one, accommodates four planets of which the chief is
its lord, the Moon, then the Sun, lord of the Ascendant, next Mars, lord of the
4th and the 9th, and lastly Venus, lord of the 3rd
and the 10th. The Lagna lord is in conjunction with the lords of
three movable signs, the 3rd, the 9th and the 12th
– a real portender for a trip abroad. But there are no applying aspects between
the Sun and Saturn (lords of the 1st and the 7th), the
Sun and Mars (lords of the 1st and the 9th), the Sun and
the Moon (lords of the 1st and the 12th) and the Sun and
Venus (lords of the 1st and the 10th). This did not
portray the occurrence of the event in the near future. My conclusion which was
conveyed to the person was that there was no chance of an immediate trip abroad
for the next 10 or 12 months that in any case not earlier than the beginning of
Mars Bhukti of Jupiter Dasa by July 1969. The foreign trip for the native
actually materialized around June 1969. The error of one month may probably be
on account of the slight differences in the Dasa Bhukti calculations and also
unrectified birth time. In any case the study of the birth horoscope (even with
the unrectified birth time) coupled with the horary chart gave some help in
deciphering the broad tendencies.
Example (2): In
another case, a Government officer who had not received much encouragement
professionally, befitting his qualifications and long years of service and
consequently very much disgruntled and dissatisfied with his lot, approached me
with the question, “What is in stock for me professionally?”
