Shubha Sthanas and the Vedha Sthanas of Jupiter:

Jupiter is a benefic planet and it give auspicious results when placed in the 2^nd, 5^th, 7^th, 9^th or 11^th house. Any planet placed in 12^th, 4^th, 3^rd, 10^th or 8^th house in birth-chart causes Vedha to Jupiter and reduces auspiciousness of Jupiter.

Shubha Sthanas and the Vedha Sthanas of Venus:

Venus placed in ascendant, 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th, 5^th, 8^th, 9^th, 11^th or 12^th house in birth chart, will be auspicious in the transit. According to principles of Vedic astrology if Venus gets Vedha when placed in these houses due to the planetary position in 8^th, 7^th, Ascendant, 10^th, 9^th, 5^th, 11^th, 6^th or 3^rd house then the auspicious results will get reduced. Venus gives auspicious results when planets placed in thebirth chart do not cause Vedha to it.

Shubha Sthanas and the Vedha Sthanas of Saturn:

Saturn is known as a malefic planet. It gives benefic results when placed in the 3^rd, 6^th or 11^th house. Any planet placed in 12^th, 9^th or 5^th house causes Vedha to Saturn. Saturn’s benefic influence gets obstructed and it also does not give auspicious result in transit, due to the Vedha.

Sade Saati and Dhaiya of Saturn during transit:

Saturn being a Yogakaraka planet for Taurus and Libra Ascendants, can give maximum prosperity during its periods and transits, depending upon its placement and strength in a horoscope chart. For other Ascendant signs also, if Saturn represents the benefic houses or it is exalted or positioned in its own house or positioned in a friendly sign of zodiac or in a constellation of a friendely or benefic planet, etc., then it may give friendly results. Similarly the Sade Saati and Dhaiya of Saturn may give favourable results unless it represents the malefic houses and or it is placed I the malefic houses in the horoscope chart.

a) Dhaiya of Saturn: Saturn takes roughly about 30 years to make full revolution around the zodiac therefore it takes about 2 years and 6 months to move through a single sign of zodiac. The transit of Saturn through the 4^th and 8^th houses with respect to the natal Moon is called as Dhaiya, and is not considered to be producing good and favourable results from these houses.

b) Sade Saati of Saturn: The transit of Saturn through the 12^th, 1^st and 2^nd houses with respect to the natal Moon is called as Sade Saati of Saturn, and it takes about 7 years and 6 months to transit through these three houses by Saturn.

The transit of Saturn through these three houses is either favourable or unfavourable, as per the signs falling in these houses. Sade Saati of Saturn starts as the Saturn enters the 12^th house, with respect to the natal Moon, and it ends as the Saturn leaves the 2^nd house while it transit. These three houses, namely the 12^th 1^st and the 2^nd house, are called three Legs or the Payas of Sade Saati of Saturn.

Paya Vichar, or the consideration of the position of Moon for assessing the results of Dhaiya an Sade Saati of Saturn.

The sign of zodiac, in which the Moon is transiting on the day, when the Saturn changes its sign to effect the commencement of Dhaiya or Sade Saati for the native is important in Paya Vichar. The sign wise position of the transiting Moon with respect to the natal Moon in the horoscope defines the Paya, and hence the result of the Dhaiya and Sade Saati of Saturn for any native is given in the following table:
