Mars & Mercury: Mars in Various Houses, Chapter III, Part - 11

Continuation

Dr. Shanker Adawal

My Thoughts: Though Mar has been considered the ruler of land, house and agriculture, its very loss is caused by Mars. This planet is destructive. It does not have great intelligence of its own. In the same manner in which fire burn everything Mars does not differentiate between man, animal or things. It just goes on destroying everything. Acharya, Gunakar, Kashinath, Kalyanavarma, Jaageshwar, Brihadyavanajaatak, Aryagranthakar, Mantreshwara, Jayadeva, Punjaraj, Ramdayal, Gholap, Gopal Ratnakar, Hillajaatak, Parashar, Yavanmath and Paaschaatya Math have all described destructive properties of Mars. The few good traits that have been described by others applies only to feminine signs.

My Experience: This person has wealth but not children. Those children that he may have cause him suffering. This is especially true from age 28 to 36. Thereafter he is happy. He tries his hand at many professions. In Aries, Cancer, Leo or Pisces ascendant means the mother will not die. This is because in such a situation Mars is in Cancer, Libra, Scorpio or Gemini. In other signs, there is every possibility of both parents dying. There could be a stepmother too. The person is ill at the age of 8, 18, 28, 38 or 48. He is unsuccessful in his land of birth but is extremely successful once he sets foot on foreign soil. He has no inherited wealth. If there is he is unable to make use of it in his lifetime. He has has to manage his expenses through his own hard earned money. If Mars is in a fire sign, his house burns down. He lives with the desire to make his own house and to die in peace there. If Mars is in Cancer, Libra, Scorpio or Gemini, this wish is fulfilled but he still does not die in his own house. For an example, refer to the horoscope of Lok Manya Tilak. If Mars is in the Fourth House, the person’s first son is sure to die. He gets prestige in courts, has many friends from who he benefits. He benefits from association with women. His business ventures are prosperous at the times of his death and he does not suffer much at the time of death. His family and house are forever visited by problems caused by his ancestors having offended a deity or having seized wealth and property from a poor person. These can manifest as the death of his wife, mother, loss of property etc.

An example is the horoscope of Mr. Balvant Ramchandra Gokhale, born in Belgaon on 3-10-1890 at sunrise. He worked in the Department of Posts. He was poor, worshipped gods with daily rituals. His parents died early and he himself was married several times. The first wife’s son could not survive for a more than a few hours after birth. He has many daughters and eventually one son. He did not have his own household. He was a good astrologer.

Mars in the Fifth House

Acharya and Gunakar: Asuto dhanavarjitaha. He is childless and has no money.

Kalyanavarma: Saumyaarthaputramitram chapalamatriapihi panchame kuje bhavati. Pishunosnarthapraayaha khalashracha vikalo naro neechaha. Hardly any wealth but his sons and friends make him very happy. His mind is fickle. He is evil and his involvement with something supremely destructive shames him publicly.

Baidhyaanath: Kroorota nashrachapalasaahasasiko vidharmaa bhogi dhani cha yadi panchamage dharaaje. He is cruel, travels much, is brave, corrupt, unreligious, is rich and attracts wealth. Putrasthaanagatashcha putramaranam putrovaneryachchati. His son dies.
