3.5 Transit Results of Planets

3.5.1 As brought out earlier, in Vedic astrology, transits with respect to natal Moon is given preference over other reference points. However the effects indicated by the birth chart and the position of the planets at birth are the basic structure over which the transit works. The nature and the strength of planets in the birth chart is the vital point. But the transit movements of planets also exert considerable influence in the day-to-day life of natives. The benefic results of transit with reference to natal/ radical Moon are as given below:

Notes:

1. Some astrologers consider the benefic places of Rahu & Ketu similar to that of Sun.

2. Jupiter is said to have mixed results when in Kendra (4^th, 7^th or 10^th places) from Moon.

3. Mars, Saturn, Rahu & Ketu are great malefics in transit as they indicate benefic results only in three places each.

4. The Sun is next in malevolence as it has only four benefic places with mixed results in 4^th & 10^th place.

5. Venus is the great beneficiary having benefic results in nine places, followed by Jupiter who has five benefic places with three mixed places.

6. Out of 108 places (9 planets x 12 houses), only 42 places from natal Moon are benefic places. Thus transit in general indicates malefic/ difficult periods.

7. In 11^th house from natal Moon, all planets give benefic results.

3.5.2 The transit results of various planets in various signs from Moon sign or Janam Rashi will to a large extent depend on the nature & strength of the planet in the birth chart. However these are given below in brief;

1^st House or Janam Rasi Transits

The Sun: It indicates worries, fever, severe headache, head injury, danger from fire/ electricity, apoplexy, false accusations, restless temperament, separation from family in shape of transfer/ travel or conjunctivitis.

The Moon: It denotes dawning of fortune, good mood & health, emotional gains & comforts or meeting friends.

Mars: It indicates head injuries, quarrels, angry mood, dejection, danger from fire, fever or blood related disease, unnecessary troubles and expenditure.

Mercury: It is a good time to express one’s views and examine oneself. Short travels are indicated which will be beneficial. In case Mercury is afflicted in birth chart or in transit, it indicates worries, anxieties, nervousness, loss of wealth, increase of enemies, sore throat, hoarse voice or tonsillitis, and bad company.

Jupiter: It indicates great mental worries & expenditure, transfers and change of place, quarrels with authorities, bad name, and loss of peace of mind. But it also marks the beginning of a major cycle of growth and receipt of help from others. One can marry during this period if unmarried.

Venus: It gives all types of enjoyments, happy relations with wife and other sex, success in social life & love, good income and happy outings.

Saturn: It is the worst period of sade sati. It denotes accidents & dangers to life, uncalled for mental worries & expenditure, deaths in relations, danger from authorities, dangers from thieves, illness, fall sin court cases, and subjected to frauds. It is a time of introversion & introspection, but do not hurry.

Rahu It indicates constant worries, ill health to self or wife, loss of face, false accusation, displeasure of authorities and dangers from outclass/ anti-socials.

Ketu: It denotes injuries, diseases difficult to diagnosis, stings & bites, loss of wealth, sick at heart, and false accusations.
