Kashinath: Dhanabhaave chandraputre dhanadhaanyadipooritaha. Shubhakarmasukhi nityam raajapoojyashcha jaayate. He has wealth and riches, does good deeds, is happy and honoured by the state.

Jeevanath: Vidhyoho putre vitte pravaramatiragyopi kritinaam samaajastho vaachaspatiriva sadaa bhaasat iti. Prataapi geetagyo bhramar iva bhogi kshatitale mahodaar shashvat suratruruva shreepatisamaha. Even if he travels incognito, he glows like the moon when he enters the company of scholars. He is glorious, one who enjoys the company of the learned, he eats sparingly and has the wisdom of a Banyan tree that reaches out it many directions.

Narayanabhatt: Dhane budhimaan bodhane baahutejaahaa sabhasangato bhaasate vyaas eva. Prithoodaarataa kalpavrikshyasya tadrit budhairbhanyate bhogataha shatpadoyam. The meaning is the same as Jeevanath’s description above.

Aryagranthakar: Bhavati cha pitribhaktaha susthitaha paapabheeroommridritanu khararomadeera ghkeshostigauraha. Dhanagatashashisunau satyavaadi vihaari bahutaravasubhaagisarvakaalapravaasi. He is devoted to his father, has a delicate physique, very fair complexion, truthful temperament, peace-loving, extremely wealthy and a frequent traveler. He has long but dry hair. He is happy, noble, wealthy, virtuous and friendly with all.

Jaageshwar: Dhane bodhane vakti maadhuryamishram dhanam vardhate baahutejaaha sa bhogi. Bhavetasansadi sinhutulyaha sa vaktaa vaddanyastaduktam na vyartha viruddham. He speaks sweetly but has no wealth. He is radiant and has no dearth of followers. When he enters a room, all eyes are turned in his direction. He is sober and rarely speaks without purpose.

Punjacharya: Gye vaagmi sa syaath purushaha saumyavaktraha syaad budaddhoyoparjitasvaha kavirama/vachaa vaadhimishtaannabhoktaa. He is a good speaker, has a pleasant face, earns wealth through his wits, eats a lot of sweets and speaks flawlessly.

Ramdayal: Everything is the same as Punjaraj’s description.

Vasishtha: He gets wealth.

Gholap: He has many friends and remains happy all his life. He is felicitated publicly by all. He is supreme in whatever he chooses to try his hand at. He is an important man and excels in all walks of life. He is intelligent and shrewd. He serves his teachers with devotion, is brave and a good poet.

Gopal Ratnakar: He has many sons, is knowledgeable about the scriptures, speaks softly, one who does not stray from his mission, wealthy, earns wealth through his hard work, has much land and property, and multiplies his wealth.

Hillajaatak: Shadavimsho vatsare chaandrirdhananaasham dwitiyagaha. He suffers loss of wealth at age 26.

Yavanmath: He speaks sweetly, donates sparingly, is intelligent, soft-spoken, devoted to his family, law abiding and wealthy. His friends, however, are not good people.

Paaschaatya Math (Western Thought): If Mercury is in an auspicious influence then it can be very strong and very beneficial. Book writing, journalism, travel, poetry, essay writing, brokerage, calligraphy, accounting are all professions where the person can do very well. He excels in studies of the scriptures, analyses of trade and finance and also of education. The person is law abiding, principled, introspective, spiritual, industrious, and just. His pace of work is fast and he has uncharacteristic luck with money.
